Andrea went through some impressive changes. You can learn more of her story in her words below. She did a session to showcase herself after so she could see this new person she became. It’s truly inspiring because change is hard but she did it for herself.

“In November of 2016, I was 3 months postpartum from having our fourth (and final!) child, weighed 331 pounds, and had just been told that the gestational diabetes I had through 3 of my pregnancies had now become Type II Diabetes. My life revolved around taking care of our 4 boys who were 3, 2, 1, and a newborn, and not much else. Self-care was a notion that was foreign to me. We took family photos one weekend, and after seeing the proofs, I realized just how miserable I was with my body and how much I had let my health decline. I was overweight since I was a little kid and had finally come to accept that this was the body I was given, thanks in part to the body positive movement on social media. But I was miserable and spent most of the day sitting on the couch holding the baby and not much else. So I started doing research on gastric bypass and on April 25th, 2017, after a few months of testing/appointments/support groups meetings, I had surgery. It was finally time for me to take back my life, not just for me but for my kids. They deserved a mom who could chase them around instead of just sitting back and watching them play.

Since then my life has been incredible - I've lost a total of 175 pounds, am no longer diabetic, and my blood pressure is no longer in a range to cause concern. I've been able to become more physically active, and have found an immense amount of joy in running. The problem that comes with losing an entire person's amount of weight is that I wasn't able to see myself as the "new" me. Doing this photo shoot with Alex not only allowed me to focus on ME (any photos I previously had taken were of my family and I- nothing solo), but also allowed me to see myself as I am now. I chose clothes based on Alex's recommendations of textures and fabrics that would photograph well, but also that made me feel comfortable in my skin. After seeing the proofs I am over the moon with how they turned out. The photos reflect the experience I had in her studio- I was able to be myself- not a mom, not a wife- just me. I am so proud of these photos because they reflect over a year's worth of hard work not just on my body but also on my inner self, and it absolutely shows in Alex's work. It's amazing that something as simple as having photos taken can really change how you see yourself, both before and after a major life change.”

Personal Branding sessions are a perfect way to perfect way to showcase the best you. These sessions are all about you and put you in the best light to make you shine. Great for professional headshots that are more lifestyle, a personal touch for your business marketing or maybe you want to have newer photos for social media! This can be just for you or as a wonderful tool to market your career or business.
